Aluminium 1070 forgings are made up of 99.7% pure aluminum, placing them in the high-purity 1xxx series. This alloy has only trace amounts of copper, iron, silicon, and other elements, which boosts its excellent workability and resistance to corrosion. Its mechanical properties feature a tensile strength that ranges from 90 to 120 MPa and a yield strength between 35 to 70 MPa. Additionally, this alloy offers high ductility, outstanding thermal and electrical conductivity, and a superior surface finish. While Aluminium 1070 forgings are perfect for applications that require exceptional formability and conductivity, they aren’t designed for high-strength structural purposes.

The forging process for Aluminium 1070 typically takes several hours, depending on the complexity of the part and size. Heating, shaping, cooling, and finishing stages each contribute to the total time.
Aluminum 1070 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and limited strength at elevated temperatures. Alloys like 7075 or 2618 are better suited.
Aluminum 1070 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high electrical conductivity, good formability, and high purity, making it ideal for custom forgings in applications requiring strength and durability with minimal impurities.
These forgings find their way into various applications where top-notch corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity, and formability are crucial. Common sectors include electrical (like bus bars, connectors, and conductors), chemical processing equipment, HVAC systems, and reflective surfaces for lighting or solar panels. Thanks to its lightweight and non-toxic nature, it’s also a go-to choice in food processing and packaging machinery. Its remarkable thermal conductivity makes it ideal for heat exchangers and cooling systems. In architecture, it shines in decorative elements and facade panels. Neith Metals offers custom-forged 1070 components tailored to meet specific client needs across various industries.
