Titanium Grade 7 Forgings consist mainly of 90–95% titanium, with alloying additions of 0.12–0.25% palladium (Pd) for improvement of corrosion resistance in acidic and chlorinated solutions. The alloy contains up to 0.3% iron, 0.08% carbon, 0.03% nitrogen, 0.25% oxygen, and 0.015% hydrogen. It possesses tensile strength of 450–550 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of approximately 20%. Titanium Grade 7 has a high strength-to-weight ratio, excellent weldability, and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and is thus extremely useful for harsh industrial and chemical processing applications.
